Bio

Rachel presides over all meetings of all directors, oversees and approves the foundation’s strategies, reviews results/reports, and sets the direction of the organization’s engagement. She seeks partnerships with other organizations to further the organization’s vision of creating communities in which everyone has the same ability to thrive, and together with the board of directors, she is responsible for the fund-raising efforts for Lulu-Afrika as it carries out its operations and expands across East Africa.

Rachel has participated in various community service and charity events in Kenya and in the US over the last 20 years and currently volunteers at an organization that shelters girls and women fleeing from FGM in Mara region, Tanzania.

Rachel previously worked as a combat medic for 8.5 years and as a Quality analyst for VES-Maximus where she reviewed Military Medical Disability (MDE) reports and Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) submitted by medical providers prior to submission to the VA. She holds an associate in science degree from Houston Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas Southern University and a Master of Public Health from Brown University.
